HamFon Day Trading Configuration
I have had multiple requests about what my hardware and software configuration is. Below, I specify what I
use, and what my screen layout looks like.
Hardware:
- Desktop:550MHz Pentium II processor
- 384MB memory
- 6GB (IDE) and 37GB (SCSI) hard drives
- Dual internet connection - Matrox Quad NIC (switchable in about 15 seconds from the screen):
- Cable (approximate measured speeds 2000Kbps download, 360Kbps upload)
- DSL (approximate measured speeds 900Kbps download, 120Kbps upload)
- Matrox G200 Quad analog/digital display driver
- Three displays: 17" CRT and two 17" digital HP Pavilion F70 flatscreens
- HP CD-Writer - weekly backups - religiously!
- Laptop:Compaq Presario 1600S
- 380MHz AMD-K6 processor
- 192MB memory
- 40GB hard drive (2G allocated for Linux, and dual-boot)
- DSL (approximate measured speeds 900Kbps download, 120Kbps upload)
Software:
- Laptop:
- Windows 2000 Professional - with Service Pack 4 and all patches
- TCNet
- HamTCScan add-on to TCNet for additional calculations and features
- TradeStation installed as a backup in case the Desktop machine fails
- Desktop:
- Windows 2000 Professional - with Service Pack 4 and all patches
- ValueLine 3
- TCNet (but not used often - I run TCNet full-time on my Laptop)
- HamTCScan add-on to TCNet for additional calculations and features
