HamFon Radar01 Stochastic Crossover indicator
for TradeStation 7 RadarScreen
Indicator purpose
Ham StochXover displays the calculated Stochastic values of %K and %D, as well as a crossover indication
if %K is crossing up or down over %D. The information is color coded - green indicates that %K is larger than %D,
and red indicates that %K is less than %D. If %K is crossing over %D, then an additional text "Xup" ("cross up") is
displayed (in green). If %K is crossing under %D, then an additional text "Xdn" ("cross down") is displayed in red.
Input parameters allow you to see Fast/Slow or Slow/SlowD Stochastic calculations, as
well as select the colors for display.
Settings:General
- Maximum number of bars study will reference - default is Auto-detect.
- Update on every tick - default is Checked - you may Uncheck to improve performance,
but the indicator will not be recalculated until the end of the current bar.
- Load additional data for accumulative calculations - default is checked, with a
value of 80. This value should be four times the highest value you plan to use for any Length.
Settings:Inputs
- Length1 specifies the period of the Stochastic calculation - default is 17.
- Length2 specifies the smoothing period to calculate the Stochastic FastD from FastK - default is 3.
- Length3 specifies the smoothing period to calculate the Stochastic SlowD from FastD - default is 3.
- Fast1Slow0 specifies which Stochastic curve set should be displayed. To display
data for FastK and SlowK (FastD), use a value of 1; to display data for FastD and SlowD - use a
value of 0.
- PositiveFGColor and PositiveBGColor are the Foreground and Background colors used to
display Stochastic values when %K is greater than %D. Default is black on green background.
- NegativeFGColor and NegativeBGColor are the Foreground and Background colors used to
display Stochastic values when %K is less than %D. Default is white on red background.
- CrossUpFGColor and CrossUpBGColor are the Foreground and Background colors used to
display Stochastic values when %K crosses up over %D. Default is green on black background.
- CrossDnFGColor and CrossDnBGColor are the Foreground and Background colors used to
display Stochastic values when %K crosses down over %D. Default is red on black background.
- NormalFGColor and NormalBGColor are the Foreground and Background colors used to
display Stochastic values when %K equals %D. Default is white on black background.
Settings:Alerts
This Indicator does not currently support Alerts, but that may be a feature of a future release.
Examples:
There are three pieces of information displayed: The %K Stochastic value, the %D
Stochastic value, and an indication if %K is crossing up or down over %D on the current bar.
The various combinations are color coded. The following RadarScreen examples show
a Cross Up, Cross Down, %K > %D and %K < %D.
